Malaysia Shock-ed Beast

The past 3 days were filled with just that, screams from fangirls and fanboys (yes, boys) of B2ST (pronounced BEAST) that most probably Shock-ed them since it's their first visit to Malaysia.

Day 1 - Showcase
Having been to a handful of showcase events, I've never seen one handled so badly before. I guess while the newspapers and featured media including bloggers could write on the success of the showcase garnering a huge amount of fans, I would say that the fans who actually attended the event were greatly disappointed by the organizers.

They let the fans in late, failed to keep their promise of letting fans with a B2ST t-shirt enter the venue first, failed at crowd control resulting in 30 over fans fainting, failed to ensure everyone who went in had a showcase ticket, and failed to make sure every fan present would get an autograph because they cut the line and left around 50 fans autograph-less.

While the experience was a horrid one to begin with, the show was great. The emcee was very kind and considerate, he did a really good job handling the fans and the show was able to move along smoothly. Beast's performance was amazing as expected and they even performed "Special"! The only downside was I was expecting to see them perform "Take Care of My Girlfriend (Say No)" but they didn't :(

List of Songs Performed (not in sequence):
Beast is the B2ST
Mystery
Easy
Oasis
Special
Shock

Encore:
Bad Girl + Mystery (Mix)

Being one of the 50 or so people who got pushed and did not manage to get an autograph, we were told to attend their 1Utama fansign session instead and wasn't given any priority but asked to come early to line up again (_ _") very. very. disappointing.

Day 2 - 1Utama Fansign Session

Maybe because of the angry comments UMM got on their facebook page, the 1Utama fansign was very much better handled compared to the previous night. More security guards were present and they lined the fans up two by two and made the fans sit.

I'd say that Beast was actually pretty much quite on time, they reached 1Utama around 5.20pm or so and the fansign session got started after a round of photo taking by the media. This time, everything was more orderly and everyone got a signature :)

I won't deny UMM credit at all for pulling this event off because we all know it's hard to deal with and they did buck up after the showcase. They did a great job marketing and promoting the album, had an extra fansign session other than the showcase, managed to plan for Beast to go on myfm and 8TV's Enews and 1Utama even promoted their album by playing it everywhere inside the mall.

I applaud their efforts but I do hope they'll look to hiring better security the next time round--at least security that don't shout threats at fans who are already angry, and ones that don't hold up the line just because they're angry at you. It was funny how while queuing at 1Utama with Moon the next day, one of the security from the previous night was telling his fellow new security to be careful with what they said if they don't want to be sued. At least word got around eh?

Day 3 - KLIA
Spur of the moment decision to go to KLIA to see Beast off. We weren't expecting a lot of fans to be there since it was a weekday night but there was quite an amount of fans waiting and screaming and banging the glasses when Beast approached. It freaked most of us out especially the glass banging (=_=)

Somehow the end to this 3 day madness was a pleasant one, next up we'll see how Brian's Showcase fares! Too bad I won't be around to catch Brian.
