so anyway ignore my last post...too lazy to blog...a thought just crossed my mind though...
I always thought my english proficiency was good...hell i was wrong...i mean okay la it's avarage but good? I dun think so...
come to think of it i never really made full use of english words to describe feelings and so on. Like for instance if i know a word that exists in Mandarin or BM that can explain my feelings for now, i'd use the word and instead of using proper english in my daily conversation, i campur aduk stuff (see??!!). Also, i noticed that i speak a LOT of mandarin nowadays cause mostly the people i know and talk to in college speak mandarin...it has come to a point that the english words which i use in day to day conversations are just simple, not so complicated words...it's like i know the meaning of some terms and all but i just don't use them making me forget that word ever existed.
for instance, today someone described my jap curry as "Bland"...i was thinking to myself, shu ling, if it were you, would you have thought of using the word bland??? i may have chosen to use words like "tasteless", "not salty enough" etc but 1 word describes it all "Bland"...damn i feel my english proficiency level drop...it's bad...it's really bad...how am i to succeed in the mass comm field if this keeps up?? I won't be able to be a journalist, copywriter or even have anything to do with writing...plus to add that ALL up, i don't read the newspaper anymore...i have no idea what's going on in the world...can u still believe i'm studying mass comm??
I'm in the wrong field...maybe i should choose psychology instead...
